Construction of Pelješac bridge quickly progressing, real estate prices will increase

Owners of real estate on the Croatian peninsula Pelješac may be happy: the long-awaited construction of a new bridge linking the southern Croatian exclave with the rest of the continental territory of Croatia is continuing rapidly, now above sea level.

This was launched after a long period of uncertainty in July 2018 and should be completed by 31 July 2021. Now, the first phase has been completed which includes the installation of 148 piles.

The bridge will allow direct access to Dubrovnik and the southernmost Dubrovnik-Neretva County without passing through Bosnia and Herzegovina, which separates the two parts of Croatia. This Croatian territory will be unified for the first time. The construction is being financed with EU funds and is being carried out by a Chinese company and, therefore, the work is continuing faster than what was expected.

In relation to the construction of this bridge, the increase of the prices of new real estate and the existing real estate on the peninsula Pelješac is expected. The Pelješac bridge shortens the journey to the peninsula by about 50 km, i.e. a one hour drive. High-quality real estate in good localities will become more attractive thanks to this transport availability.

An excellent investment will be, for example, the apartments at the sea in the pleasant town of Orebič.
